About Abby
I’m Abby, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW license #62983) with a passion for fostering healing and growth through genuine connections. At my practice, all identities are not only welcomed but celebrated. I am dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space for your unique journey of healing and growth.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is rooted in a deep trust of your inner wisdom about how to heal and change. I use a blend of therapeutic models and frameworks in our work together, including:
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Neurobiology
Attachment Styles and Theory
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Somatic Practices
Mindfulness Practices
I am deeply informed by the intricate workings of the brain and its capacity for change.
As a relational and trauma-informed therapist, I firmly believe that the therapeutic relationship serves as the cornerstone of the healing journey. I recognize the profound impact of life experiences on our connection with intuition. I am committed to helping you navigate and trust your own wisdom. I bring a mix of directness and warmth cultivated from my roots on the east coast and my time in Texas since 2014.
Specialities
The way I support clients going through fertility challenges and narcissistic abuse recovery is shaped by my own journey. It helps me connect on a deeper, more meaningful level and offer the kind of empathy that only comes from lived experience.
My goal is to help you feel less alone on your journey and offer hope.
My Professional Journey
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a deep belief in the healing power of connection. My career has taken me through a variety of roles that have all centered around showing up with care, presence, and a trauma-informed lens.
I earned my Master’s of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016. That experience laid the foundation for my work in mental health and my passion for holding space in meaningful ways.
I’ve worked in community mental health settings providing individual, couples, and group therapy, as well as supporting clients in moments of crisis. These years gave me a deep appreciation for the resilience people carry and the importance of accessible care.
Before starting my private practice, I served as a Clinical Manager at a nonprofit in Austin, where I supported a team of trauma therapists and supervised clinical interns. It was a role that combined my love of leadership with a commitment to nurturing new clinicians.
In 2021, I opened my private practice, where I now offer attachment-based, relational therapy to individuals and couples. My work is especially focused on trauma recovery, relationship patterns, and reproductive mental health—including infertility and queer family planning.
I also serve as Clinical Director at the Mindful Wellness Center of Austin (MWCA), a nonprofit providing affordable, mindfulness-based therapy. In this role, I support student therapists, lead consultation groups, and work closely with the board to strengthen our clinical programs and uphold our mission.
Earlier in my career, I worked in the disability advocacy space, first as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, then as Deputy Director of a nonprofit serving teens and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. That work continues to influence my values and how I show up as a therapist.
Across every setting I’ve worked in, one thing has remained constant: I care deeply about helping people feel safe, seen, and supported as they move through change and healing.
Beyond Professional Life
Outside of therapy, I’m learning how to garden by making tons of mistakes, binge-watching reality TV, moving my body, hosting friends for dinner and making memories with my wife and little one. I’m also on my own healing journey—imperfect but always growing.
